Govee AI Sync Box 2 Setup Guide

Govee AI Sync Box 2

  • Tools required:
    • Small Phillips screwdriver (for mounting or cable management)
    • Measuring tape or ruler (to plan LED strip placement)
    • Stable Wi‑Fi 2.4 GHz network and network password
    • Mobile device (phone or tablet) with Bluetooth and internet access
    • Cleaning cloth (for preparing mounting surfaces)
  • Applications:
    • Govee Home app (latest version) — required for setup and control
    • Alexa or Google Home app — optional, only if you will enable voice control

• Unpack and inspect: Confirm you have the AI Sync Box 2 controller, any supplied cables or adapters, and your LED strip(s). If the power cable or adapter is not present, check the manufacturer documentation or packaging before proceeding.
• Read documentation: Review any quick‑start or safety information supplied with the unit before powering on. The device requires a 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi network for app connectivity; 5 GHz is not supported unless otherwise stated in the box documentation.
• Plan placement: Position the controller close enough to both the LED strip connection and a power source. Allow ventilation around the controller and avoid placing it where heat can accumulate. Measure the TV/monitor perimeter to determine LED strip lengths and where the controller will sit out of sight but accessible.
• Prepare surfaces: Clean the rear of the TV/monitor or mounting surface with a non‑abrasive cloth so adhesive on the LED strip will bond securely. Do not place LED strips on uneven, dusty or hot surfaces.
• Attach LED strips: Route and attach the RGBIC LED strip(s) around the screen as planned. Ensure connectors are correctly oriented and fully engaged with the controller’s LED input. If the product uses segmented addressable connectors, align pins carefully to avoid bent pins or misalignment.
• Connect power: Connect the controller to the supplied power cable or adapter. If no power accessory is supplied, use only a compatible adapter as specified by the manufacturer. Plug into a nearby power outlet and switch on the power. (If mains electrical work beyond plugging in is required, consult a qualified electrician.)
• Power on and initial state: Confirm the controller powers up — indicator LEDs will usually show device power or standby. If there is a power button, use it according to the quick‑start instructions.
• Install Govee Home app: On your mobile device install and open the Govee Home app. Create or sign in to your Govee account as prompted.
• Add device and pair: In the app select Add Device and choose the appropriate model listed (or select Sync Box / Lighting Controller if the exact model is shown). Follow the in‑app pairing instructions to connect the controller to your 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi network. The app will prompt for network name and password; ensure you select the 2.4 GHz SSID.
• Grant permissions: The app may request permissions such as local network access, Wi‑Fi state or camera access (for certain sync methods). Grant required permissions to allow the controller to function and to enable screen‑sync features if requested.
• Configure LED segments: Use the app to define LED strip length and the number of addressable segments if prompted. This enables accurate colour mapping across your screen. Follow on‑screen instructions to calibrate segment count and placement.
• Test sync and presets: Use the app’s test or demo mode to confirm LEDs respond correctly to content and to adjust brightness, colour temperature and scene presets. Verify timers and scheduling features if you intend to use them.
• Integrate voice assistants (optional): If you want Alexa or Google Home control, open the respective voice assistant app and enable the Govee skill/service. Link your Govee account when prompted and discover devices to add the Sync Box 2 to your voice ecosystem.
• Finalise mounting and cable management: Secure any loose cables, use supplied clips or cable ties, and hide the controller where appropriate while ensuring ventilation and access to cables and buttons.
• Firmware updates and troubleshooting: Check the Govee Home app for firmware updates and install them. If pairing fails, verify you are on a 2.4 GHz network, move the router closer for initial setup, restart the controller and the app, and retry pairing. Consult in‑app help for model‑specific diagnostics.

Capabilities and connectivity (as provided): The product supports individually addressable LED segments (RGBIC), customizable brightness, multiple scene presets, and timer/scheduling features. Connectivity is via Wi‑Fi 2.4 GHz. Compatibility with Alexa and Google Home is stated; use their apps to enable voice control. If any capability or accessory is not present in your box, refer to the manufacturer documentation for what is supplied.

Safety notes: Do not expose the controller or LED strips to water. Avoid damaging connectors or cables when installing. If mains electrical work (hardwiring or permanent installation into a household electrical system) is required, engage a trained electrician. For other issues follow the manufacturer instructions and safety guidance.
