Hello from DigIoT: smarter living, minus the faff
Why DigIoT—and why now?
Smart home has matured fast, but it’s still confusing: dozens of hubs, apps that don’t talk to each other, and jargon everywhere. With the rise of open standards like Matter (alongside proven Zigbee and Wi-Fi devices), the pieces finally can work together.
We started DigIoT with one thing in mind: expand the possibilities of smart home and bring automation, presence, security, connectivity, and convenience together in a way that’s easy to understand—and even easier to live with.
What we do (and what we won’t)
-
Curate gear that plays nicely across Apple Home, Google Home, and Alexa—clearly labelled with compatibility and protocols.
-
Explain it in plain English. Every product page gets real-world notes, wiring tips (where relevant), and quick-start steps.
-
Support you like a neighbour. UK-based help from humans who actually test the kit we sell.
-
Keep you un-locked. We avoid closed ecosystems and “gotcha” subscriptions.
What we won’t do: push shiny gadgets for the sake of it, hide compatibility caveats, or make you learn a new language just to turn on a light.
Who we’re for
-
Homeowners & renters who want reliable automations—lights, heating, presence, sensors—without a full-time hobby.
-
Prosumers & tinkerers who value standards, local control options, and clear docs.
-
Installers & small businesses needing dependable hardware, transparent notes, and fast fulfilment.
Our stance on privacy & security
Smart doesn’t have to mean nosy. We prioritise devices with strong local-control options, transparent data practices, and regular firmware updates. We’ll flag where cloud accounts are required, and where they aren’t. If a device doesn’t meet the bar, it doesn’t make the cut.
How we choose products
-
Standards-first: Matter, Zigbee, or rock-solid Wi-Fi.
-
Interoperability: Works across major ecosystems without hacks.
-
Reliability: We test for the everyday annoyances—pairing, dropouts, latency.
-
Clarity: If install steps or wiring are tricky, you’ll know upfront.
-
Value: Fair pricing without the mystery tax.
What’s coming next
-
Launch catalogue: lighting, sensors, switches, presence detectors, energy monitors, and security accessories.
-
Guides & playbooks: “Room-by-room automation,” “Presence that actually works,” “Matter vs Zigbee—when to pick which,” and more.
-
Community feedback loop: tell us what to stock next; we’ll share roadmaps and changelogs.
How you can get involved today
-
Join early access for launch updates and a little thank-you perk at go-live.
-
Tell us what you need. Missing a device? Stuck on a setup? We’re listening.
-
Installers / businesses: request trade access and pre-order information.
Our promise
We’ll keep DigIoT simple, honest, and standards-driven. We’ll document the tricky bits, own our mistakes, and always recommend what we’d use in our own homes.
Thanks for being here at the start—we can’t wait to help you build something brilliant.
